Pirate101 Dev Journals: Set sail for two new world expansions
Set sail for two new world expansions in Pirate101; the online game for all ages from KingsIsle Entertainment. Adventures await you in the highly anticipated Books 13 and 14 of Pirate101! With the introduction of both the war-torn skyway of Marleybone and the legendary beauty and danger found throughout Aquila, high-level Pirates can now continue their journey against the evil Armada!
This is the largest expansion to date for this family online game by KingsIsle Entertainment where young Pirates rebel against the evil Armada who are bent on destroying the Spiral. These worlds and much more are coming to the Members Only Test Realm, and will be available to the Live Game soon. Learn more at http://www.pirate101.com.
Book 13: The Dogs of War (Marleybone)
The pirate’s quest for the pieces of the Map to El Dorado takes them to Marleybone, where they must track down their old friend Catbeard. Wizard101 players adventured on the streets and rooftops of Marleybone’s capital city, but in Pirate101 we open up a whole new realm of adventure! Pirates take to the midnight skies of Westminster Skyway, where they find a war zone and come face to face with the consequences of their former actions. Marleybone is at war with the evil Clockwork Armada – a war your Pirate started, and a war Marleybone is losing! To get the next piece of the Map, player Pirates must join the Royal Navy and help turn the tide of the war.
Their quest will take Pirates to the Isle of Dogs, a bustling hub of industry and shipbuilding with a criminal underworld lurking in the sewers beneath; the isle of Fetch, a vacation resort now abandoned and waiting for the imminent Armada invasion, and Beachhead, an armored battle station with enough firepower to destroy every city in Marleybone. Along the way they’ll meet a rich cast of characters including Admiral Nelson, Ebenezer Scrooge, a spy named Smiley, and a special guest star from Wizard101. A host of dire enemies also wait for them: Cat criminal mastermind Captain Swing, the dreaded anarchist Guy Fox, and not one but two elite clockworks – the mysterious Bishop and Rooke, Supreme General of the Armada!
Disney brings color to the world in Words of Wonder on Facebook
Disney Social Games’ latest Facebook offering combines elements from titles like Candy Crush Saga and Boggle as players are asked to create words from random letter tiles, while also completing level objectives along the way.
Words of Wonder sees you helping a friendly owl bring color back to a beautiful book by creating words that are 3-8 characters in length. Words can be formed forwards, backwards, and even diagonally, so long as the letters touch in some fashion. The longer the word, the more likely you’ll receive a power-up tile that can multiply your score or blow up surrounding letters, as examples.
Each level comes with a different objective, like clearing a specific number or tiles, or just forming a set number of words, and many have “move” limits, similar to move limits found in a match-three game like Candy Crush Saga. The more points you earn, the more stars you’ll receive, and the higher you’ll climb on your friends’ leaderboards.
We’ll have a complete review of Words of Wonder in the near future, but for now, feel free to jump into the game right now on Facebook.

FarmVille ‘Around the World’ Goals: Everything you need to know
While we already have quite a few things to work on in FarmVille right now, from goals and countdowns to building projects and more, there’s apparently room for something else on our virtual plates, at least according to Zynga. The developer has released a new set of “Around the World” goals to our game, and we’re here with a complete guide to finishing them off, thanks to Zynga itself. Let’s get started!
Festivus?
- Get 6 Festivus Poles
- Harvest 50 Spinach
- Harvest Animal Workshop 2 Times
For this Festivus Pole requirement, and all others in this goal series that ask you to collect a material from your friends, you can earn these items by posting general news posts on your wall, asking all of your FarmVille friends to help at once. Since these goals are available to complete across our many farms, we won’t be stuck planting simply Mistletoe Lane crops, and you can plant these Spinach squares on any farm. They’re available to harvest after 14 hours. Finally, the Animal Workshop is the new “factory” in Mistletoe Lane, but you can place more on other farms to speed this goal up. You’ll receive 125 XP, a Pig of Strength and 2,500 coins for finishing this first goal.
